OU Central Library Construction in Full Scale

Today, August 14, thirty cubicles were finally disassembled and removed from the 1,400 sq. ft. space of OU building, where the central library will be established. These cubicles will be replaced by around 44 bookshelves which are scheduled to arrive on the 30th of this month.

In addition to the bookshelves, other library furniture and equipment such as a circulation desk, computer desks, and book carts were ordered. The interior design and decorations of the library will be planned out ahead of time by our top designers and carried out as the items arrive on the campus.

Meanwhile, continuous efforts to meet the 100,000 book quota are evident all around the world. For instance, the Asian Library has recently gained a huge collection of books through the efforts of H.K (4,000) and Taiwan (2,500). The Chinese members in the U.S. have also set up standards to gather books from both coasts.

The college libraries are also showing progress in meeting their individual quota of 7,500 books. The number is slowly being filled through purchases made possible by offerings and personal donations made by professors of their personal collections.
